Adios Napkins

A few years ago, we have said adios to our paper napkins.

Believing that even little changes can make a difference, we switched to fabric ones.

Each person has his own color, so there is never any confusion at dinner about the righteous napkin owner. We even got some extra colors for guests. We have several sets to last till the clean ones come back out of the dryer.

Try it, it’s cheaper and greener. You produce less trash, you never run out of napkins, and they add a colorful element to your table.

  1. Wow, what a cool idea.
We always wonder if we’re wiping our face with someone else’s napkin. This will solve that!

  2. It is a great (and simple) idea. But I have to add that this German household still resists having a dryer and I hang my laundry to dry in the good old Waschküche :-)

No microwave either – which has lead to questions by our American friends like “How do you make popcorn?” “In a pot on the stove” and “How do you warm up your coffee?” “We don’t. We make it fresh or keep it warm in a thermos”.
